Give a Kenyan Girl a Chance to go to School!

Become a godparent to a child in Osiri Beach fishing village. Open the door to a better future and sustainable development.

Twelve girls from Osiri Beach have been able to start school  thanks to the collection of the jubilee year of IBBY Finland.

We hope that you or your group of godparents would take the responsibility of the study expenses of  one girl. The yearly fee is 300 euros and covers the school uniform, the study books and the accommodation of the goddaughter until she is able to manage on her own.  It is possible to pay the fee in two parts, in July and in January. In Kenya the school year is divided into three terms.  IBBY Finland stays in touch with the goddaughters  through Osiri Beach Library and keeps you informed about the progress they make.

Please contact the secretary or the chair person of IBBY Finland in all matters concerning the godparenthood.

IBBY Finland was granted membership in KEPA (the Service Centre for Development Cooperation) in the spring of 2009.
